Functional Fitness at Hart Chiropractic takes a different approach. Rather than treating the symptom in isolation, we assess your body as an interconnected system — analyzing your movement patterns, postural mechanics, and structural function to find the real source of the problem.
This is what we mean when we say functional. Not just stronger or more flexible — but moving the way your body was designed to move.
When Traditional Physical Therapy Isn’t Enough
Traditional physical therapy is valuable — but it often focuses on the area that hurts rather than why it hurts. A patient with knee pain may spend sessions strengthening the quad without ever addressing the hip mechanics driving the problem.
Our functional trainers take a full-body assessment approach. We look at how you move — the patterns, the compensations, the weak links in the chain — and address them at the root.
Think of the body like a steel chain. If one link is compromised, the entire chain loses integrity. Our goal is to find that link, restore it, and rebuild function throughout.
How We Structure Your Care
Functional Fitness sessions at Hart are available in three formats, designed to meet you where you are:
Posture Prep & Mobility (15–20 min)
Our most popular short-session format. These focused appointments are designed to complement your chiropractic adjustment — helping your body accept the correction, hold the adjustment, and reinforce better movement patterns. Sessions run 15–20 minutes and are typically scheduled 2–3 times per week alongside your chiropractic care.
Private Posture Prep & Mobility (45–60 min)
One-on-one sessions for patients who need more focused time and individual attention. Your trainer works through your specific movement dysfunctions in depth, addressing postural alignment, range of motion, and the muscle activation patterns that support lasting structural correction.
Private Functional Fitness Training (45–60 min)
A comprehensive one-on-one training session that integrates cardiovascular conditioning, Posture Prep, mobility work, and strength training. Designed for patients ready to build functional strength on top of a corrected structural foundation. Every session is guided by your trainer with your body mechanics at the center of every movement.
Why Posture Prep?
Posture is the structural foundation everything else builds on. When it’s compromised, the body begins to compensate — shifting load, altering movement, and quietly accumulating stress in joints, muscles, and connective tissue. Over time, those compensations become pain.
Our Posture Prep programming specifically targets the muscle groups that support structural alignment: hip flexion and extension, glute activation, hip range of motion, midline stabilization, and scapular retraction. These aren’t generic exercises — they’re selected and modified for your individual mechanics.
When posture improves, everything downstream improves — recovery time, adjustment quality, pain tolerance, and long-term structural health.
