Hart Chiropractic & Functional Wellness Center
Non-surgical disc care. Precise. Structured. Guided by 25 years of clinical experience.
Dr. Matthew Hart has spent 25 years treating patients with disc injuries, herniated discs, sciatica, and complex spinal conditions. He is a founding member of the American Spinal Decompression Society and brings deep clinical expertise to every evaluation — helping patients determine whether decompression is the right path forward, and building the structured plan around it when it is.
What Is the DRX9000C?
The DRX9000C is an FDA-cleared, computer-controlled spinal decompression device designed to reduce pressure on spinal discs in a precise, repeatable way.
Your spinal discs act as cushions between the vertebrae. When a disc is compressed, herniated, or degenerating, it can irritate or compress nearby nerves — producing pain, stiffness, or symptoms that travel into the arms or legs.
The DRX9000C works by applying controlled, intermittent traction to specific spinal levels. This process may help reduce intradiscal pressure, improve nutrient flow to the disc, and create a better environment for the body’s natural recovery processes.
What makes it different from basic traction is precision. The DRX9000C targets specific disc levels using computerized feedback — not manual adjustment. This allows for a highly controlled treatment that is consistently reproducible from session to session.
How Does the DRX9000C Work?
During each session, you’ll be positioned comfortably on the treatment table. A harness secures your lower body while the upper portion remains anchored. The device then applies a gentle, rhythmic pulling force at a precisely calibrated angle and intensity — targeting the disc level identified in your evaluation.
Sessions typically run 20 to 30 minutes. Most patients describe the experience as gentle stretching — comfortable enough that many are fully relaxed by the end of a session.
After each DRX session, patients recover in one of our treatment rooms using targeted red light therapy. Our MOVE+ device combines red light and advanced laser technology to support disc recovery and reduce inflammation around the treated area. It’s a purposeful rest-and-recover protocol — not an add-on.
Spinal Decompression Within The Hart Method
The DRX9000C is one tool within a larger framework. At Hart Chiropractic, spinal decompression is never a standalone service. It is integrated into The Hart Method — our structured four-stage spine restoration process — alongside chiropractic care, movement and stability work, and functional strategies designed to support long-term results.
The goal isn’t to reduce your pain temporarily. The goal is to address the underlying mechanical cause and build structural stability to prevent it from returning.

What Our Patients Are Saying About Spinal Decompression
Schedule a Structural Evaluation
Before any treatment is recommended, we need to understand your case — not just your symptoms. That begins with a comprehensive structural evaluation.
During your evaluation, Dr. Hart will:
- Review your history and prior imaging if available
- Assess the mechanical cause of your symptoms
- Determine whether disc pressure is a factor
- Evaluate whether DRX9000C therapy is an appropriate part of your plan
- Recommend next steps — whether that includes decompression or not
We’d love to help you find a path forward. Give us a call or request your evaluation online.
